you can only install a DVD game with a DVD-ROM drive, you cant make the computer think its a dvd drive, since they use difference lasers.

thats probably because u extracted it. and it probably needs the cd also so which means u will have to burn it onto a dvd.
u can try just transfering over the .iso, extract it on ur buddies computer, then try running it. if all fails and u dont want to remove ur dvd drive. try daemon tools(google it).

Alcohol 120 will make a vitual DVD-Rom drive. Its a great burning program. So if you have the files in like an .ISO or somthing like that and you just need a virtual drive to run the install off of, i would say Alcohol 120 thats what I did and it worked great.
Edit: This virtual drive also lets you Get by the inserting different disks durning the install because you just mount the next disk.

Come on guys... Very easy to do.
1. Make an ISO/image of the dvd. 2. Use a program like hj split to split the ~4gb file into 800mb, to fit on a cd.. burn however many cd it takes. 3. Bring the cd to his house, rejoin them with hjjoin. 4. use Nero as a Drive emulator, and load it that way. Fun Fun.. Or you could put it on a backup hd. and then emulate it from the iso off the hd. |
