Default Instant Messenger Virus Help

Does anyone have any information about a virus being sent via IM? It is a link that appears to be to a 'My Space' site. If anyoe knows how to get rid of it or what to do about it, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Is it an AIM virus? If so you can download AimFix to get rid of it.

I think i know what your talking about... my sister got an AIM virus a week or so ago, and Xycron, the link that was sent via aim was the real one, it didnt go to a different once when you clicked on it. I've run norton anti-virus and numerous anti-spyware programs, and i still havent been able to get rid of it. So im not sure how you will be able to, but i would try what Charlie said.

I had almost the same kind of virus on yahoo messenger and what fixed it was ewido, I first had to uninstall yahoo messenger, install and update ewido and run it in safe mode and fix what it finds and then reinstall messenger!
