My laptop which has Windows XP has a virus, how do I remove it? Will reinstalling the OS help me get rid of the virus? Help please.

Yes, reinstalling the OS will get rid of the virus. But itf you don't want to go through the trouble what you could do is get AVG http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
It is a free version anti viurs, but a good version none the less.
Get it update with the virus definition and then scan.

This is not always true, there are viruses that can infect your memory and even reinstalling the OS the virus will remain!
