Default Opinions on AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU

Okay, I recently received a Epox EP-8RDA+ motherboard, AMD Athlon CPU, 1GB Corsair RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video card, 1 Seagate 120GB hard drive and a 10GB Maxtor hard drive along with some fans and a dvd burner. Oh, and I have a Antec case with a 460-watt PSU.

Well, some of you may recall the problem I had with the Epox board. I am just going to buy a brand new board and CPU.

I was thinking of the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe board matched with the AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1GHz CPU from newegg. Here are the links....

Any opinions on this pair of hardware?

I've seen that many people use the A8N so it is probably good. the Athlon 64 3000+ Venice is one of the best CPUs you can get for the money.

Man, I just realized that this board doesn't have the AGP slot(s). So, I can't use my 9700 Pro board.

So, what do you guys think about this one, ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard to match with the AMD Athlon 64?

would be tempted away from the via chipset on that board
maybe msi neo2

would have rather it was the neo2 platinum but new eggs dont seem to stock it, and i assume you are keen to stay with newegg to cut down shipping cost
