do you have the cd that came with your soundcard? if you do, put it in your computer and install it again.

is there a small grey speaker icon in the right end of the taskbar?
if so, double click te icon, and see if the volume isnt completely down, or that the sound is muted.

Don't be so literal, You know he wasn't. I'm pretty sure he means by deleting drivers/directory.

I wouldn;t be suprised if he did indeed though he "edleted" it, not everyone is computer literal, incase that is the case, It's impossible to delte a soundcard.

blue, you cant expect him to just tell you all that stuff, if he thinks he deleted a sound card, then i dont think he would know how to find all that info on his comp.

Tell me what? His system specs? Actually I do yes . now I know many come here that don't have a clue as to what the computers specs are that sit right in front of them. I do however assume though that if they come here looking for help rather then run to a tech. then they must be willing to learn. And this is a bit annoying now as your the second person to assume that the guy thinks he deleted his sound card. We don't know that for fact and I feel he might just think he deleted the directory of which things are installed. For an example C:\Program Files\Creative - deleted.

When we start making assumptions then our advice is not worth anything. Its also important that a person gives us more information like the system specs so that we can have this to go by when lending advice.

Here you tell him to install drivers for his sound card which you don't even know whether he needs. He might just have his sound muted for all we know. You also failed to mention to him that he cannot delete his sound card. Anyhoot I can and do certainly expect him to tell me his system specs if I'm willing to lend advice as it is my intent to try and help.

you also mad an assumption, that he didn't think so, and i enevr said he did, i said maybe he did and if it was the case, and many of my friends dont have a CLUE what the specs of their PC's are.
