Default Video Card issue, please help.

Hi,

I have a video card issue and I have no idea how to remedy it. I have a GeForce 6800GTOC 256MB AGP video card. Since I bought the card, and only when running certain games, I'm just playing along and all of a sudden my screen goes black, and I get the "Off Mode in 5 Seconds" message from my monitor. I monitor basically goes in hibernation mode because nothing is displayed on the screen. My computer is still running, and I don't lose any sound. I have no choice but to hard shut down my system to get out of it. Below are the games I've experienced this with:

Battlefied: Vietnam
Serious Sam 2
Black and White 2
Halo
Age of Empires 3

I can run many other high-end games like Battlefied 2, Half-Life 2 and Quake 4 just to name a few, without any issues. I have the latest drivers (81.85) installed at this time, but it happened in the past with the drivers 78.01 and 78.05. I know it's not a driver issue because it happened with 3 driver versions. My motherboard and everything is fully updated. Below are my system specs:

P4 2.8Ghz (Prescott)
Asus P4P800S Motherboard
1024MB DDR PC3200 RAM
GeForce 6800GTOC 256MB AGP
Currently using Onboard sound

I also thought that it might be my video card overheating. So I fired up the games that I listed above and played for a little while then would ALT-TAB out of the game to check what the temperature was for my card. The highest I seen it was at 80C, but my threshold is set to 120C so I doubt it's an overheating issue. Anyways, I'm totally lost on what the heck is causing me this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think your graphics card is defective, I had an older Nvidia Geforce MX4000 do that to me when I was trying to play Doom 3 and Halo.
