Once my computer has been turned on and Windows is running, everything works fine. After being on for a couple of minutes, I can't open Internet Explorer. It just shows the little hour glass next to the arrow, then it goes away and IE is still not opened. Also, after waiting a couple of minutes, it will take almost a minute to open the My Computer folder on the desktop. I really have no idea how to go about this problem so any suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

I think your best bet is to find out if you have ad/spy/malware or a virus.
Take a look at the sticky threads in the Computer Security sub-forum.
