Anybody seen this before?

I have an Athlon 64 3700+ (as shown in my sig), for a few months now my computer has been "killing" sticks of ram in my second ram slot.
after replacing several parts including the PSU and motherboard it still happens... ive also stopped putting sticks of ram in the second ram slot lol.
has anyone heard of an athlon 64 (specifically socket 754 ones) that are in some way faulty and cause damage to ram sticks?

i didn't mean that every sockey 754 system would kill ram, it probably came across like that though lol. i was wondering if anybody had heard of a faulty processor screwing up ram

Do they blow straight away? ... how long does it take for them to fail after putting them in?

my two guess' would be that you either have...

a) some debree in the slot that is shorting them out(only likely if the sticks blow imedeatlly.... usually also takes out the MB)

b)one of the voltage regulators(transistors or diode) for that slot is faulty and alowing a higher current or voltage into them.

Have you tried running a voltage logging program? I know Praetor mentioned one i a post alittle while ago...if i find it i'lll edit this post.

its happened on two motherboards that i have used, its usually takes a few weeks before they fail, the computer will start to become unstable and blue screen a lot. but will become stable again if i used a memory divider; it will then start to become unstable again after a few weeks at which point the stick of memory is useless.
