Unhappy Question about P4 Port on motherboard

I got an ABIT KD7a mobo recently and it has the standard 20 pin ATX port, but it also has another power port, a 4 pin port. I believe it is called a P4 port? My power supply doesn't support that. Would my power supply work without it?

Damn near any new power supply Look for a PSU that says either "Supports P4" or "Supports Athlon64"
