Before running a virus check, my sisters computer would not open any programs or internet explorer.
After runing a virus check, one virus was found and alot of other adware's.... They were deleted. I restarted the computer and the programs would open again, but the microsoft internet explorer will always say ''page not found''. My messenger would work, windows media player would work when searching for music on the internet, and also msn internet explorer would work, and thats what im using now. I think that the microsoft internet explorer settings were changed and if its possible to reset the the settings? Or is ther any steps os doing this.... Info: Windows Xp Home Edition, Dell brand, earthlink internet, and its working fine too.

Try restoring IE setting to default. Ive had this problem before, reset cache, also reinstall netowrk adaptors, or ISP adpator. Delete cookies, and temporary internet files, and disk cleanup, scan disk. This might work.

go to start and type msconfig into the run command area, then go to start up and look for a entry with iexplore.exe in it and untick that option and restart
