Default Can't adjust treble/bass

Hello all, I have onboard sound with Realtek AC97. My problem is that I can't adjust the treble and bass settings. I went to the volume control settings and it wouldn't let me adjust them. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

I have that same soundcard and to my knowledge you cant change the treble/bass via windows unless you get surround sound and up the sub woofer (that will only adgust the bass of course).

you can adjust base and treble with the player you use. i.e. you could use windows media player EQ to adjust base & treble. Also winamp has an EQ, well most players do.

I have an audigy LS with the latest drivers an control panel and the bass and treble controls are still disabled.... it doesn't particularly bother me because as someone mentioned earlier you can adjust it via programs such as media player
