Default host my own website

i have a spare computer running:
  • windows 95
  • 64mb ram
  • 10gb hard drive
  • 550mhz processor
  • 8mb/s internet connection

could i host my website on this pc? if not do i need a different operating system?

Different OS.

Windows 2000 has IIS services and will run on that hardware.

not sure if apache runs on win95 or not
http://httpd.apache.org/
otherwise you could squeeze linux on there and run apache that way

A simple way that i found is to get LiteServe, i have it on my pc and use it as a server. You can setup a Web server, FTP, E-mail, and telnet.
