I have a Dell Latitude Laptop that crapped out on me. Dell told me that it was the HD and that they would send me a new one but I have no way to get my data off. There is a company that want to charge me like 2300$!! Any input on a way to get this data off?? Here is the error
Windows could not start missing \windows\system32\config\system HELP!!!

have you tried
a) Booting to safe mode b) Repairing windows c) Boot to another hard drive and simply coping the data off?? d) Using the windows repair console on the (i assume xp) cd
