what OS do you have ,,, windows xp has native cd burning built into it, the cd burning of windows xp is basic, I would suggest Nero, I also have sonic, though I have found sonic is not as compatible. Do not use cd-r/w you will need packet writting software ( comes with nero if you really want it) cd-r/w work like a giant floppy, where you can drag and drop data to them , they also can be erased. The downside is if you take a cd-r/w to another pc, it too has to have packet writting sftwr installed. Cd r/w are from when CD-Rs were close to $2.00 ea, back when there were only 2x burners. Now adays when you can get 100 CD-Rs for $10 -15 it makes no sence to usw cd r/w.
you can do reburns of cd-r's removing data or adding.
