CD/DVD player and Sound Card

Do the new motherboards require you to attach the wire from the CD/DVD player to the sound card? Sorry, I'm color blind but the wire is either green or gray.

Nobody cares about colour blind people... I hate colour coded stuff, it's useless to me

Anyways, if there's nobody about to ask, just try it both ways...
