Default Page Cannot Be Displayed

Okay, here is the problem, i seem to be getting page cannot be displayed messages on internet explorer left, right and centre. If i am using mozilla firefox, the messages i am getting a message saying that the document contains no data. I have done a virus scan and ran adaware. As far as i know, my security settings are ok. I am running windows xp home- service pack 2 and the version of ie is 6 sp2. I am using a 56k dial up connection, could this be the problem. Thanks in adance for any help.

It happens with a specific internet site, or all of them?

There are some sites it happens all the time with, then others that it happens sometimes with, then others not at all. I know that the sites work though because i can access them on other computers. For most of the ones i have problems though, they never work.

You mean like in a website with frames? That would be weird...
If the error messages were plain then could be a DNS problem.
Are you using a proxy server?

Try opening that page by entering IP address instead of domain name.
To find out what's that IP, enter the address here: http://openrbl.org and click submit.

Default It might be...

I've been doing a lot of reading lately about SP2. I think it might be in the SP. From what I've been reading, SP2 is good for security (maybe a little too good) and it still has a lot of bugs.

Lorand, i am unable to get the IP from that site.
I was wondering if it was to do with the service pack but i still got quite a few page cannot be displayed errors before i downloaded sp2. Do you know if there are any patches available yet to fix it? Thanks
