Knoppix Root Password

I am *trying* to install VMWare on a knoppix session, and I have a setup for a persistant knoppix.img file, and it works well.

Now I want to install VMWare so I can run my Windows OS in it.
Knoppix 3.8 uses KPackage, (Debian) but it needs the Root password password. Does anyone know what it is?

oh darn...

error message with install...
I think I'll try the TAR instead of the RPM, and if all else fails, .EXE and WINE...
