Default I need some help please.

I had two hard drives installed on my computer (Compaq presario 6000, with windows xp) so when i turn on my computer the black screen shows up and lets me choose which hard drive to start up, most of you that have two hard drives probably know this. So i had problems with one of the hard drives and i took it out, now everytime i turn my computer on the black screen shows up asking me which hard drive to select and i have only one hard drive in my computer. It is not that big of a problem but it is really annoying me. can anyone tell me how to fix this i would appreciate it very much, thanks

Hmm, maybe you should reset the BIOS

I think resetting the BIOS means opening up the side panel of the computer and pulling the battery out for about 10 seconds... But I'm not sure, look it up before you try anything.

the boot menu is in the BIOS, thats why I guessed it should be reset. If there is only one HD now, it should detect it somehow and do away with the selection. If I'm wrong, oh well, it was just a theory.

well i've never hooked up another hard drive before so the only Q and A i have for you is this

Is there any loose cords or anything that you've left after uninstalling the other hard drive... maybe the computer is trying to read it because there are extra cords or some kinda of broken connection within the tower...

just a guess
