Default Norton Internet Security 2005-06

my idiot causine baught Norton Internet Security 2005 last month when 2006 is coming out, are there many differences? will he be able to download the same security updates on 2005?

I doubt they will use the same updates, I mean what is the point of buying 06' if 05' does the same thing. No one would buy it. You might be able to "upgrade" to 06' for a discounted price.

My advice is to return 05' and get a free anti virus program that isn't a system hog *cough*AVG*cough*

AVG is good enough? does it have a big virus archive? Where can I download it from?
Is AVG better than Norton AntVirus?

Well I certainly think it is. I've never had a virus with Norton, and I've never had a virus with AVG. Norton is considerably large and somewhat laggy with my computer, AVG is speedy and quick. Norton is expensive, AVG is free.

So, seeing as that for me they work the same and protect me the same, i choose free and fast AVG.

You can just give it a try for a week or 2 and see if you like it. If not, then use Norton, theres no losing

There are critical updates for it at least once a day for me, seomtimes 2-3 times a day there is an update for it. Compared to other free AV programs, and some that aren't free, the virus archive is extensive, i have yet to have anything get through on 3 computers i installed it on.
