Isn't there an esier way of doing this? I'm not sure what it does axactly but I think that this procedure might remove it without the need of additional software.
Right-click on the Desktop> Select Properties> Select Desktop [Tab]> Click Customize Desktop> and then click on Clean Desktop Now (in the the Desktop Cleanup area).
Is it just me or does anyone else agree that that is the easier option?

All the "clean desktop now" does is remove unused shortcuts

yes, i already posted a way to do it. and it comes back with a click.

maybe the hard way is the easy way for some OR maybe i like to make things harder< OR maybe makin people actually tryyyy and do things differently so they can learn another way INSTEAD of havin some frggin wizard tab this click that dumb $hit. Or maybe i like to c sarcastic P4icks as urself offer the ez way, and u feel just a smiiiiidget better about urself for going that route

True but then you cannot place any other icon there even temporarily.
