Default computer not booting

my cd rom drive wasnt working and I wanted to reformat my computer so I
removed my hardrive to reformat on another computer. I reformated my hardrive and put it back in my computer to start up but it didnt start up instead it brought up this blue screen that said something about removing any newly instaled software or hardrives. What I dont get is why it starts on my friends but doesnt start on my computer.

Default Hmm

Maybe pop back the CD-ROM drive that "did not work". What you could try is putting another one in on the same channel that you know works and then booting. A different hardware configuration sometimes causes this.

Did you format the drive in another system and install the OS, If its XP, it doesnt like changes, moving from a completly different system, dont think you will get it to boot, use the cd-rom out of the other system to reformat and install on your computer and give it back

i used to get this problem on my old system. in my case i found that replacing the crappy IDE cables that came with the system sorted the problem.
i would strongly suggest that you check that the cables are securely in place and even move the drive to different channels if that doesn't help.

Reformat or reinstall? Because you cant boot or get BSODs off a formatted drive
