Exclamation Cannot hide Inactive icons

So basically, on my taskbar the little arrow to hide my inactive icons won't appear.

I've gone into the taskbar properties and checked the box that says Hide inactive icons. That does nothing. I've rebooted, checked and unchecked the box several times, even filled up the taskbar with icons to see if it would do it automatically.

So, any ideas on how I can get my little arrow back and hide my icons?

Your taskbar could be locked. Untick the 'Lock Taskbar' option in the taskbar properties.

Nope, it wasn't that. However, my problem has been resolved. I was just sitting here browsing the net when suddenly the little arrow just appeared.
