Default Hard Drive Help with Games

I need some help with a harddrive question. I currently have a 40gb wd hd. It has 11gb left of space. My question is would adding a second hard drive and installing my starwarsgalaxies game on that hd and then running it from that hd help with any hd read problems? I am currently getting hd read lag in the game. I have
p4 2.0 o/c to 2.66
1gb ram
40gb wd 7200rpm 2mbcache hd
ati 9600xt video card

I didn't know if buying a new hd with 8mb cache and transfering all info from original drive to it or buying a second drive and just installing the games on that drive would be best for performance.

a bigger cache will help, but if you play a lot of games, look into getting a hard drive with around a 10k rpm speed or higher

That wont help games too much, seeing that games run off of ram and not the hard drive. If i were you, i would invest in a larger hard drive with a larger cache size. and if you can, try to get a SATA2 hard drive.
