Mobo and sound card

Can I use sound blaster on any of these 2 mobos? MSI k8N or the asus A8N the reason for this question is cause i know some mobos have on board or intergrated sound audio can i still use a sound card on these mmobos?

You can use any sound card on these boards, be sure to disable onboard sound.

Should be automatic (most of the time)

Also something to note is that some of the high end MSI boards come with hardware audio thus negating the need for a addon soundcard

is there anyway to disable the automatic disabling, if you understand what i am saying. i.e. could i use external speakers AND my laptop speakers at the same time?

Depends on the board ... my old ASUS A8V DLX didnt allow for simultaneous PCI+integrated audio which pissed me off enough to upgrade the entire machine ... ok so actually it depends on the chipset ... the Via K8T800Pro has a limitation in it that doesnt allow for that specific audio-scenario ... my NF4U however doesnt have that problem.

is it in the BIOS?
