Laptop Hooked up to TV

hey everyone! i'm having a little bit of a problem... I have a compaq laptop, and I hooked it up to my big screen tv with an s-video cable, i finally got it to work, but the resolution is horrible! any ideas? please help!!! lol

TV's run at a much lower resolution than computers so normally the res is going to be bad when you hook it up. Best thing they are usually used for is just movie playing if you want to do that. Besides, who would want to watch anything like that on something with such a low resolution
