Default my dad doesnt think more memory will help my computer plez tell him it will!!!

right now i have 2x256mb ddr memory sticks i want to get this

http://cgi.ebay.com/1024MB-PC3200-DD...ayphotohosting
(1024mb)

he thinks that since it comes wit 512mb video memory it will help the computer more alot and if we get that 1024mb stick that it wont make a big difference

it will help unless all of that ram isnt already being used, i.e you have a bottleneck. but i doubt that is the case, the ram will help you in all likely situations just maybe not to its full potential
