or you could get a cheaper one if you dont want to spend 80 bucks on the card geoff posted and get the soundblaster live 24 bit soundcard. its 29 bucks and it works great

it does work well, but if you want really good sound and/or have nice speakers, i would recommend the audigy 2 zs or audigy 2 value.

why not go 16bit like me? lol, well, if he is setting $100 aside for a sound card i'm thinking he wants a good one, so zs is probably the way to go............btw, hows that X-Fi? those are expensive cards there

well the cheapest is the X-Fi music extreme(i think thats wats its called) for $117 so its not that expensive and i heard its a really good card.
