Research. Read lots and lots before buying anything or attempting to build anything. Learning how to build a computer takes more than a weekend, and learning to troubleshoot problems and remedy errors takes years. Computer technology constantly changes, so once you master one thing, tomorrow it totally changes and you have to re-learn everything. But it's hella fun

Building Computers 101 - Read to start out. Ask questions as you need to here, you will get answers. There are a miriod of good articles like these on the web, that's probably your best research resource.

Theres numerous websites. Read those then ask more specific questions. Just about every website I've seen is well over 10 pages so you cant just ask how do I build a computer.

You can build an awesome computer for $1500

Hey, building a computer is ALOT easier than it sounds, plus you get alot more satisfaction than just plugging a Dell power cable into the wall. Stick around here and you'll be ready in no time.

You could always buy a barebone system and add too it. That would be even easier on someone new to building computer.

If you decided that build a computer is not for you, the next best thing would be to have someone build a custom system for you or find one on ebay (see signature). This would be much better than buying a name brand (Dell, HP).

On what? Yes a computer. But what do you intend to do with the system?
