Default Laptop install problems.

Hi all,

I've got the following problem.
I want to install my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 laptop with another harddrive.
Because my cdromdrive does not works i copied the Windows 2000 i386 dir onto the harddrive before i installed it in de laptop.

When i start the installation Windows copies the files but when it wants to reboot to actually install Windows 2000 i only get an black screen with a cursor left above the screen.

I have upgraded the bios but nothing works.

Does anybody have an idea?

Thanks in advanced.

Michael.

are you starting the installation from a previous installation of windows? if so i suggest that you start it from a boot disk if possible. if this is the case i think the previous installation may be "tripping over" itself when the installtion needs to reboot; i had a similar problem with windows ME
