D-Link Wirless Problems

Hi, i have a D-Link DI-524 and i connect the modem to the WLAN port and then Lan Port 1 to my pc.....the WAN LED will not turn on and it specifies that it will, and im an not able to acess the internet. Has anyone ever had this probably and if not does anyone know how to fix it?

Dont 4get you might have to authenticate

can u explain how to do it......and once again i connect the enthernet wire to the wan port from the cable modem and then then lan port to the computer.

Plz anything will help!
