Default avg anti virus system help

hello all, **first post**

was wondering if anyone here can help me, my computers got a virus 'Trojan horse BackDoor.Agent.BA' avg picks the virus up but can't remove it, i've no idea how to get rid of it & the constant pop ups warning me of the virus are getting very annoying, i stopped really caring about the virus cause it doesn't seem to be doing anything anyway i just want to put a stop to the pop ups, is there anyway i can do this without uninstalling the programme?
cheers

i have norton antivirus and i as well have 2 files in the Quarantine section. i cannot remove them, but yet they do nothing harmful to my machine. i thonk your best bet would be to make sure they are in a "quarantine" section or something similiar so they dont start tearing your PC apart. if thats been done then leave them alone until you get an update or something that removes them. i thought you could disable pop-ups from spyware or w/e your program is to stop notifying you...norton has that feature i guess, i never get notices. nayone know how to clear out unremovable but non-harmful viruses?!?!

Why clear them if they are not harmful? Because of antivirus-warnings? Uninstall the antivirus and there you go...

yah i uninstall antivirus, then i lose my Quarantine and my viruses are free to roam my machine. i just want them gone in case Norton gets corrupted. i dont want the chance of them leaking through. Norton doesnt notify you though, only when ir first detects them, after that nuthin.

I never had an antivirus from 1992 (when I bought my first computer). And never had viruses...
Could these be related? :-)
