This computer is an HP pavilion that originally had Windows ME installed. The previous owner had fdisked and tried to use the recovery disks but disk one of the recovery disks had a deep scratch and cannot be used. HP stated that they cannot send me a new set of recovery disks as ME is no longer available.
I deleted the partition. restarted with Windows 98 SE disk in drive and it stated that it had to format the drive. Right after it started formatting, it popped up with a message stating that setup cannot install. An error was detected while formatting your primary hard disk partition. Any advise on what to do next? Thanks in advance! |
