Default Can't Reformat!?

When i was reinstalling windows xp pro, i tried to reformat but for some reason, it says it cannot delete the partition.
is there another way to reformat a HD? and how?

Is this through fdisk? You could use Darik's Boot and Nuke. Search for it on Google.

if you can, just boot up from your xp cd, during the installation, it will ask you if you want to delete the partition of you hard drive. say that you do, it will delete everything, then will install a fresh xp on it

yeah, i tried that when i was reinstalling windows xp, but when i selected the delete partition, i was unable to delete it...
