House....I would not mind an apartment, the only thing holding me back is the apartments around here you can not work on your car in the apartment parking lot. I once lived in a town house that had the same policy, they had a block captain that would monitor the neighborhood and look for "violators"

That's dumb. Where are you supposed to work on your car? Some block ordinances are just pure dumb, like you have to have at least 2 potted plants on your porch and keep them good looking. Or you can't have more than 2 cars parked in front of your house on the weekends.

A duplex can me one on top, and one on bottom to, my great aunt own's one. As for me, I live in a house, and part of the house(was built on as a addon by prevous owner) has another door to get in from outside, and was only connected to our house by one door, so we sealed it off and new we rent it out ![]() If you have the money to start making payments on a house, its better then a apartment anyday, your losing money on apartments, and a hosue your puting money into something that will be YOURS, and even if you move before you pay it all off, it's still money your getting back, not lost forever |

well, i live in a house, but i rent it like an apartment. im in the same boat as 4W4K3, there is a lot of open space around where i live. i live in the mountains of soutwest virginia and its nice and quiet up here. cold in the winter and hot in the summer, just how i like it.
around here it would take A LOT of land to get a house over 100,000. i cant imagine an 800,000 house.

I would certainly choose a house because I myself live in one with my parents. I am a family kinda guy and I do not particularly like appartments. However, in the end, it does not really matter where you live as long as it meets what you are looking for.
