what kind of task can a CELERON? beat a p4? maybe possibly even a Celeron D, but a regular celeron?

Anyways as far as i know P4 all the way.

I can spend 30$ on a celeron and use it for word processing, email, web design, excel, all that good office stuff and not have to spend between 150-200$ for a chip I'm going to no where near reach the potential of.

I dont think they mean that a Celeron can outperform a P4 at certain tasks, but that its much cheaper than a P4 and would be able to perform the same task just as quickly (like word processing, e-mail, internet, ect).

The P4 is a huge performance increase then a Celeron or Celeron D.

Intel's ok if you just want basic stuff (word prossing, surfing net.......) and stuff like that but if you want gaming AMD all the way

its not like amd's aren't good at surfing the net...and the upper level p4's still game pretty well.
