psu's usaully have component protection systems built into them.

so most likely your pc will still work with a different psu

Wow I am really sorry bout that, I was this close to buying that power suply. So it literaly started smoking? I dont know what you should do other than get it replaced. Do it through newegg though. Get the seasonic S12-600 instead. And if your other stuff is broken your going to get it replaced at one point or another, there's not much user fault with your situation.

yes, my room was full of smoke.
im sure it was a faulty psu. this psu DOES come with some protection thing so, i do have a feeling it will be fine. it said in the instructions aout why its special, protects you from frying hardwear if something does go wrong. and im sure it was protected because if it wasnt, it would have conntiued to burn and what not.
and if not, im ready for the worst. ill have 7 RMA numbers and alot of shipping costs to get it back to cali.

is there something i can do? use a mulitmeter or something to check it?
