i ask a simple question 2 days ago.
why my lights were flickering, i wanted to see if it was still messed up because noone helped me. i logged in, seemed fine. the psu started making laud noises, i went to shut it of and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. the psu started smoking and i will fly down to antecs headqueaters and kill whoever made this p.o.s. if this destoryed any of my hardware, someone will die. my mobo, processor, video card didnt seem like they were broken. i have no idea if they are shorted out but none of the capasiters or transisters are broken open. none of the wires are fried either. So the antec NEO HE did one right thing in their logo, and that would be protect not serve

Faulty PSU's are common, although they usually won't blow up, just die. Can't blame anyone for not telling you, it's not like we could have prevented it from exploding. If anything I would have told to you turn it on and check the voltages with a multi-meter, and it still would have blown.

im sorry guys, im pissed and freaking out. it didnt actually blow up.
it started smoking ALOT. the power was out in my room and it smelt like something was actually burning in the psu. like a wire was burning. and yet again, im sorry for the thread name and was more directed to antec. i sent them mulitple emails on friday, saturday, and today. i get no response. my question is: is my hardwear screwed? it didnt look like anything was destroyed exept the psu. inside the case was moist and stinky like an electrical fire. i am praying to god right now edit: i also, before it died, i checked thereading of my hardwear. they wornt getting spiked voltage, everthing was consisted with a processor temp of 31c. here were the readings cpu - 31c sys - 24c pwm - 31c my first 12v rail was getting in like 12 v or its 18. the cpu was getting consistent voltage readings and seo was everything else. and if you want to ban me, ban me after this problems is cleared. i am sorry but i hate antec right now and that is what i feel about them poor products, bad at returning my emails. what else am i to do? my 24 pin connector is not blackened or anything. all of the direct 12volt connectors "4pin molex" are fine and i cant see anything that would mean a voltage spike. edit 2: should i take apart the psu and see if i can see anything? i relize that it may still have volts in it and could get shocked. if it is recommended, ill take off the cover and check for something that is fried...

.Anyhow fingers crossed that there where not spike. Things don't necessarily have to be too obvious like blackened connectors for there to have been one. Like I said... Try to get another PSU in there right away and hook er up to alleviate whatever stress you my be under. Fingers crossed that everything besides of course PSU is OK.

Hey hey hey, calm down. No need for language like that. Anyway, it sounds as if it was quite a severe blow in the PSU. By the sounds of it at the moment i qoould put money on AT LEAST your motherboard being dead, if it died due to a power surge, (most likely), then its also likely that you PCI cards/AGP cards and your RAM WILL be dead. If your really unlucky then you CPU will be fried too. Most of the time these are undetectable, you cant actually see any damage.
What motherboard are you using. Also, you need to get that hardware out and into another test system, a mates PC your second one. anything, cos you could wait weeks for a replacement PSU only to find 90% of ur hardware is gone too, then the wait of another 2-3weeks for delivery of that too. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news dragon2309

I would doubt that everything would be fried but you never know. Try not to think of that they are as I doubt it all is. Anyhow if and whatever is then you could try to RMA them. If they don't appear to be damaged in anyway yet they fail to work because of a spike or whatever then you'll most likely get a new product.
