Exclamation GeCube ATI cards for P5GL-MX ?

Hi to all,
I'd like to ask some questions about the mobo ASUS P5GL-MX I recently bought. Well the problem is, I heard that it has a limited graphic card compatibility list. Is that true? Will I be able to buy an ATI gecube x600xt and install it without having any incompatibilities or other issues? I searched all over google to find an answer but found nothing Can ya help cause the onboard 915gl sucks a bit...
Thanks for reading

I've never heard of a motherboard only accepting certain cards. If its an AGP 8x, i would assume that you could use any 8x video card.

Thnx for answering,
Well neither I heard a thing like that, but in the booklet that comes with the motherboard, there's a gfx qualified list (containing only ASUS cards) and a warning message saying, "Use only qualified cards; other cards may cause boot system failure or gfx errors!" o_O
Well i don't know the gravity of this warning message, maybe it's only for promotional purposes.
Btw, the slot is PCIe x16 which supports 4x PCIe cards (!). Maybe this makes the incompatibility. Well, the only way to know is to buy the card and test it :/
I'll let u know the results if other user has the same answer/problem.

i dont think you'll have much of a problem getting the x600xt to work in your pc.
however, to be shure, id suggest you mail asus support and ask.

Well i have some results and probably helpful info, if a user experiences the same problem. Do not use the GeCube ati x700 with p5gl-mx, use ASUS EAX700 instead (same chipset and specs), as described in the manual. With gecube x700, games crash all the time. Btw, the motherboard is a bottleneck for advanced cards due to 4x PCI express speed mode (limited to 2GB/s transfer rate instead of 8GB/s that 16x offers).
