Got a PC that had Windows 2000 installed.
The harddrive crashed.
Harddrive has been replaced and am now selling and am trying to install Windows ME, but it will not load. Any ideas.

1. so you are trying to rip someone off by selling a crashed hardrive?
2. wow it will not load, the possibilities.
3. no idea unless you give us more info.

stay with 2000 instead of me if it works.

New harddrive installed.
Message on boot up with ME disc in CD "Operating System Not Found"

in bios make boot from cd rom first as first boot device.

windows ME is a worthless. stay with 2000

Could be a memory related problem. Usually ME won't work fine with more than 512 MB RAM.
Also check if the HDD connector is plugged well.

WME doesnt native support NTFS during install if i recall correctly.... so you might not be able to install because the installer thinks there isnt any available drive

I agree, I actually wasn't going to even use WINXP but because my new system needs XP to install all my hardware.........

I put it on, but got rid of all the flashy toolbars and windows etc etc

My aunty had WME, she had alot of trouble with it
