Unhappy Windows XP Boot Delay..

Hi..

I have a Desktop PC.... Intel 3.0Ghz, 1GB RAM.. DVD Writer,, etc etc... and its running on Windows XP Prof. with Norton Antivirus 2005... and it has two N/W Cards installed.. one for ASDL Modem and Another one of local Intranet.. the problem is... when i start my system, the system boots up fast.. i can see the desktop icons in 3-4 mins...but i am not able to access the Local N/W PC's... even the Internet i am not able to do... it takes some 2 Mins for that.. after two mins the whole desktop will refresh... and then i will b able to access.. the thing is Norton is not Enabling even... its also gets enabled only after that... i dont know whts the problem... pls help me out of this...

you probably have to many startup programs. go to start/run/type msconfig/ go to the startup tap and see what all is in there. if you have things you dont want to run on startup, delete them from the list.
