i thought this was to make a copy of game cds so they run from your hdd instead of having to use the cd??

with codecs you can play videos, music with uncommon extensions that are not very spread, they are like "drivers" so your player (windows media player, bsplayer...) can support and play a file with that extension, i don't know if i explained it well cuz i'm from croatia and i can't always remember the right words to use, lol

i didn't used it but i heard that its for burning optical discs

EDIT: about antiviruses, antispyware..., i prefer ZoneAlarm for firewall, Norton Antivirus 2006 for ... , Ad-Aware SE Personal/Pro for spyware and that would be all i think for system protection
