Default Problem on CS:S

Okay, I have had a problem with CS:S for a while, where when I choose a server and click "Connect", it comes up with the window that has "Join Game" "Cancel" and the server status, etc. even if the game is not full. So I click Join Game and every time I press it, the ping of the server goes up 'til it hits 2000, then I usually have to click many more times for it to actually join the server. I lived with that for a while, but now when it starts to load into the server, right before it's done it closes CS:S completely, as if I pressed Alt + F4, completely closed it.

So now I can't play at all and I have no reason why, any ideas why this might be happening?

Happens to me sometimes, as with almost everyone else. Did it happen with EVERY server?? It only happens with some for me, and that is usually when the server is updating itself.
