Default XP Pro, computer seams slow to boot

how long does it take your computer to boot up? mine seams a bit slow starting XP op system.


Asus A8N,Athlon 64 3200 cpu, 1 gig of OCZ ram,74 gb raptor hard drive.

you might have too many startup programs running. how many do you have??

the only thing in my Start Up folder is Microsoft Office. no aim,no yahoo,no weather bug etc

Try starting your computer and going to run>type msconfig.msc (if it doesn't work, take off the .msc)>Choose one of tthe sstartup tabs

This will show you the COMPLETE list of startup programs. Take off any you don't want by removing the checkbox.
