pci express backward compatible or not?

what i'm saying is you can't use a pci express graphic card on a regular pci slot right? they're different pins? since it wont be awhile to upgrade the MB since the price for those MB are pretty steep.

i thought it was compatible. but if not i also heard that they are making adapters....you might be able to get one with the card i dunno.

There are some hybrid PCI-Express/legacy PCI slots in which you can use both types of cards:

PCI express is still in its infancy ... not quite time for an upgrade yet

My GFX card is PCI express, but I have normal PCI slots on my motherboard, and it works fine
