what do each of these things contain? like what things are able to be seen/changed in each. also is the CMOS also gotten by going into safe mode? i've heard these terms before but i've never really known what they exactly provide me. any help/references is appreciated.

nice guide!
you dont get to your bios in safe mode. by the time you get to where you can choose safe mode, the bios has handed control of the computer to the operating system to get into your bios there is typically an key you hit like F1, Del, etc. There is usually a prompt during the POST that says what key to hit to get into Setup.
