Default Slooooow XP loading...

For some reason Windows XP home sudenly loads really slow for me... it takes twice as long as usual. The only things I can think of is installing Avast antivirus which I unisntalled, and unblocking a port in ym router for Azuerus. Are there any reasons why this would sudenly happen? Once I'm in windows it runs fine, but the loading is just reeeaaly slow...

Possibly you are running low on storage space for HDD? Or perhaps you need to defrag? This usually helps load time. I would say cut own on start up programs but I don't think those effect boot up time BEFORE the log-in screen, however it's worth a try.

This computers a month old, and I have 128 Gigabytes of free space, so I dont think thats a problem. I dont have anymore startup programs then I did when it started up fast. I'll try refregmenting.

are u sure u completely erased and uninstalled avast?

some traces might of been left behind and is trying to point to avast in the background when you load up, but is not finding it.

do a reg. clean and delete any remaining avast folders
