Default 1394 Expansion card?

My case has 1394 ports on the front, and a cable to connect to mobo.

My mobo, of course, doesn't have these.

So I was looking for a PCI card that has an internal port for the case to plug into as well.

But ALL the 1394 cards I have seen, with an internal port, has a plug for a cable of some sort.

Not the "pin" type like the motherboard and case use.

Do they make....PCI cards with the pins on it to plug into?

Okay! So I emailed them.

NO DICE.

What I need, is a "6-pin IEEE 1394 to 2x5 pin adapter".

I found them, but they are 2' long cables and not what I thought I could get.....

(Expansion card w/ internal plug) ---> (adapter) ---> (2x5 pinup ALREADY on front panel)

I mean, doesn't HAVE to be a cable, I need some kinda adapter

can you post up a pic of your firewire card?

does it have an internal firewire connection with a 6 pin so that you can use that cable above?

i think that a cable is all your going to get, having googled it. unless you make an adaptor yourself.

why is the cable no good?

All firewire cards I've seen have the 6 pin 1394 female plug.

So yeah... I need that cable.

Bad thing is its like 2.5 ft long, for my super mini atx case...
