Default Limited or No Connectivity

sorry if this is the wrong section but i didnt see any technical thread to post in...

anyways earlier today i was playing around on my pc, i accidently hit the disable button on my lan icon, so i went to enable it and when i clicked enable the pc automaticaly restarted, booted it back up and i got this triangle with explanation point sign on my lan icon and it said " limited or no connectivity etc "

so i clicked, repair and it failed to renew my ip adrres, i reset my router, reset my cable modem, ive restarted my pc a few times... i went into dos and tried to do it manually by ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew ... when i did the renew it was unable to renew... said something simular to ... " an error occured while trying to renew interface local area connection, attempteded but is not socketed " not exactly that but simular... i went through all my internet connections, checked all my settings and they are all the same as b4...

my moms pc is on the same network ( router ) and thats what im using atm and its working fine... so please help me figure this out, could my ethernet card shorted out or something, it gets the lights on the back and i dont see no error with it on device manager

Your TCP/IP setting file is corrupted. It happened to me once and I used "Winsock XP", to fix the problem. You can download it here (its a Freeware).

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

After download just double click on it,
Hit Fix, and sit back for 1 minute and after that restart you computer and you should be good to go.

Now do remember, it will only fix the early stage of corrupted TCP/IP file. If your TCP/IP is seriously damage, you may have to reinstall the windows...

But Try this, I'm very sure it will work for you....

Let me know.... Good luck...

when i click log off or restart it beeps then never turns off or restarts... only way i can turn my pc off is click logoff and then do it that way, also when i boot my pc when i get to my login screen , it goes to it for about a second then screen is black with a small litle box titled parser message, the message states error creatine line 8, i have to hit the ok button like 10 times then it goes back to my login screen

Try Doing This:
just try to hit "Del or F2 (which ever will take you to Setup)" key at the start of your pc to enter setup. Then choose "load setup defaults" or "load bios defaults" and "save & exit". More helpfull could be this link: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
Good luck

Let me know if above works out..
