Default I think my video card sucks

Ok so I strolled into best buy with a pocket full of cash not to long ago and I came back home with this kick ass computer. At first all is well. Everythings good and speedy. Now I noticed that for some reason some games dont work well on my computer. Text and 2d images are screwed up in some of the 3d games i wanna play. Now this is a major problem. All the games work perfectly well on my cousins older computer so I figure its a video card problem. I dont really think the card sucks, I just think its uncompatable with some games. I dont really know much about computers, but is there any software I can download or buy to make my video card work with more stuff? And also how do I check exactly what kind of card I have?

Do you know the manufacturer and model number of your computer? (it may say on the side of it).

start -> Run -> dxdiag

Give us the system specs you'll find there including driver/DirectX versions.

Is there anything I can do to improve gaming on my computer other than buying another video card?

How much did you pay for that computer? Hopefully not more than a couple hundred bucks.

Your video card is integrated, so yes it does lack performance. However, if it worked fine at first there is obviously something that can be fixed. Have you tried re-installing the video card drivers?

Its never worked with some games but it works well with other games. One of the games it doesnt work with is 2D and I couldnt amagine it would require more performance than some of the 3D games that work perfectly well. Thats why I think its a compatability problem.
