Exclamation internal card reader connection problem

Hi,
i recently bought a memory card reader/USB hub for a 3.5" bay, but when i tried to install it i couldn't find anywhere to plug it in! the cable that came with it has a female plug, with 9 contacts, it looks like this:

oooo
ooooo

the only place i can see that it might plug into is the COM2, but it doesn't fit... it needs a plug like this:

ooooo
oooo

It makes sense to plug it into COM2, but it doesn't fit... and i cant see anywhere else to connect it!
If someone knows how to help me, then please do!!
thanks for your time,
Paul
